Here is a Running Record for my focus student Chelsea (pseudonym). This was performed on March 4th, 2015. I hope to move progressively towards more focus demanding passages in the upcoming weeks with Chelsea (Q and beyond) and do Running Records for the rest of my focus students. (#FEAP1c)

Your focus student, Chelsea, seems really close to her target goal, and I hope that this is an improvement since the last running record! My focus student, Jonathan, has struggled slightly with his running records. He'll make up words and to him, it feels right. I performed a running record recently as well, and he's definitely improved!

I am also still doing running records. I decided to record the readings first. My above level student reads way too fast for me to keep up! Can't imagine 5th grade! Do you often have different running record results for books on the same level? My focus students seem to be all over the place the last few weeks, my below student declining the most. My above level student also performed better with a higher level book than one at a lower level.

Im glad to see that your focus student is making progress. I wish we were there more often to work with them to effectively increase their progress. I am also working on fluency with my student (Quiet flower). She's a great student but she reads at a very slow rate. My goal is to improve her expression and speed rate as well as abstract comprehension.

It is great to see that your focus student is almost to their target goal. I am sure that with the hard work you are putting in she will get there by the end of the year.
